Fudge Flies

After some exhaustive research, I have found only the following facts about Fudge Flies: 1) In the Harry Potter books, they were sold at Honeydukes. 2) Scabbers, the rat, enjoyed them. 3) They are currently only available through Univeral Studios, either at Harry Potter World or on the muggle interweb at Amazon.com. 4) They have 200 calories per serving, 12 grams of fat, and 19 grams of sugar. That’s all my searching has found on the topic. Also,  I have eaten the official Fudge Flies on two occasions, and I think they...well...I think they suck! Proof that I speak truthfully is that they only get 2 ½ stars on Amazon.com. Trust me, you're better off making them on your own with this recipe. Even better yet, I would use mint chocolate melting wafers to make them extra special. You can call them Mint Fudge Flies if you like!

1 bag dark chocolate chips or melting chocolate

Cooking Tools:

Double broiler

Bee mold

(You can buy these on muggle interweb at Amazon.com or Etsy.com. Yes, you do need the bee mold, not the fly mold, because, well, there is no fly mold, but this one will do the trick. )

STEP 2: In the kitchen, you will need a double boiler. If you don't have one, don't sweat. Do like I do: put water in the bottom of a pot and put a glass bowl on top. Presto! Instant magic! It's done. Be careful, though, the glass bowl will get hot. Of course, if you have a melting charm...

Step 3: Melt your chocolate chips or melting chocolate in your double boiler, a few at a time.

STEP 6: Pop them out of the mold, and eat them yourself or feed them to your chocolate frogs.
